Beautiful maple 3/4” hardwood floors on the main floor. Approximately 500 sq. ft. are the original floors, restored. The new family room has 200 sq. ft. of new maple floor. These floors have been finished with natural vegetable based oiled finish (linseed and tung oil).
The main floor has a unique Catalan style tiled bathroom. Completely redone in 2009 including insulated exterior wall, soundproofing behind shower and character ceiling and built-in storage. The vessel sink is one-of-a-kind, by local artist Charley Farrero. The tiled corner shower has sliding glass doors, and there is a water saver toilet.
The sunny, south facing family room is all new construction, built in 2004.
The kitchen is open to the family room, with a gas stove and European style custom stainless steel sink and drainboards, with dish draining storage above. Space underneath and wiring for a compact dishwasher (not installed).
Most of the windows in the house have been replaced with modern, energy efficient units, in many cases retaining the original mouldings. The few original windows have been repaired and sealed against drafts.
Fenced back yard, with no overhead wires, neighbours on one side only. An urban orchard, the back and side yard are full of flowering edible fruit trees and shrubs. These include Saskatoons, crabapple, apple crab, hazelnuts, gooseberries, blackcurrants, raspberries, cherry, native roses, white and regular lilacs and buffalo berry.
